Big Island Beach, 32 x 48, Mixed Media on Canvas
| As I turned on Merigomish Beach I was confronted with sentinels of wood that stood the test of time against raging tides and surf. They had protected the Big Island causeway from erosion for decades and now stood lonely and uncared for. These sculptures of man and sea told a story of a time long past when sailors docked in harbours kept safe by these pillars of wood. I wanted to create a piece that put you instantly there allowing us to feel the moment in time I shared with nature and the sea. |
