Big Island Grass, 21 x 32, Mixed Media on Canvas
| This work was created on a causeway in the Northumberland Strait facing PEI. It was late evening on Merigomish Beach in a tranquil sanctuary setting where time weathered sands met the sea. The wind blew across the beach as I moved in and out of rising sand dunes that graced the shore. I stopped, looked to my right and an opening in the grass beckoned me to pause and drink in the wonderful colours as they changed with the setting sun. Rich greens and golden yellows were everywhere in the golden hour just minutes before dusk. I had only a few seconds to capture this moment so that I might paint it for others to share with me for eternity. |
